And He said to them,“ Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

又曰、斯喻爾未達乎、又安識諸喻耶、

又曰、斯譬未達、安識眾譬、

又謂之曰、此喻爾尚不達、何以識眾喻乎、

又曰：『斯譬之意、豈爾等亦不明耶？則又安足以喻眾譬乎？

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t you understand this story? Then how will you understand any stories of this kind?

And he said to them,“ Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

Then Jesus said to them,“ If you can’t understand the meaning of this parable, how will you understand all the other parables?

And he saith unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how shall ye know all the parables?

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Jesus said to them,“ Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him,“ Yes, Lord.”Then He said to them,“ Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them,“ O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?

When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable.So He said to them,“ Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

Then He said to them,“ O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

“ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

Then Peter answered and said to Him,“ Explain this parable to us.”So Jesus said,“ Are you also still without understanding?Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;

“ Therefore hear the parable of the sower:When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
