Then he said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand all of the parables?

又對他們說：「你們不明白這比喻嗎？這樣怎能明白一切的比喻呢？

耶穌又對他們說：「你們不明白這比喻嗎？這樣怎能明白一切的比喻呢？

耶穌又對他們說：「你們不明白這比喻嗎？這樣怎能明白一切的比喻呢？

耶穌又對他們說：「你們不明白這個比喻，又怎能明白其他比喻呢？

耶穌又對他們說：“你們不明白這個比喻，怎能明白一切比喻呢？

耶穌又對他們說：『你們不曉得這比喻麼？怎能明白一切比喻呢？

耶穌對他們說：「你們不明白這個比喻，又怎麼能領會所有的比喻呢？

又曰、斯喻爾未達乎、又安識諸喻耶、

又曰、斯譬未達、安識眾譬、

又謂之曰、此喻爾尚不達、何以識眾喻乎、

又曰：『斯譬之意、豈爾等亦不明耶？則又安足以喻眾譬乎？

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t you understand this story? Then how will you understand any stories of this kind?

And he said to them,“ Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

Then Jesus said to them,“ If you can’t understand the meaning of this parable, how will you understand all the other parables?

And He* said to them,“ Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?

And He said to them,“ Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

And he saith unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how shall ye know all the parables?

Then He said to them:“ Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any of the parables?

And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

He said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? Then how will you understand any parable?

He said to them,“ Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?

As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be zealous and repent.

“ Have you understood all these things?” They answered him,“ Yes.”“ Therefore,” he said to them,“ every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom treasures new and old.”

We have a great deal to say about this, and it is difficult to explain, since you have become too lazy to understand.Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the basic principles of God’s revelation again. You need milk, not solid food.Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant.But solid food is for the mature— for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil.

Aware of this, Jesus said,“ You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves that you do not have bread?Don’t you understand yet? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many baskets you collected?

When he went into the house away from the crowd, his disciples asked him about the parable.He said to them,“ Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a person from the outside can defile him?

He said to them,“ How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

“ This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.The seed along the path are those who have heard and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.And the seed on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. Having no root, these believe for a while and fall away in a time of testing.As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who, when they have heard, go on their way and are choked with worries, riches, and pleasures of life, and produce no mature fruit.But the seed in the good ground— these are the ones who, having heard the word with an honest and good heart, hold on to it and by enduring, produce fruit.

Then Peter said,“ Explain this parable to us.”“ Do you still lack understanding?” he asked.“ Don’t you realize that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is eliminated?

For my part, brothers and sisters, I was not able to speak to you as spiritual people but as people of the flesh, as babies in Christ.I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, since you were not yet ready for it. In fact, you are still not ready,

“ So listen to the parable of the sower:When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.And the one sown on rocky ground— this is one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.But he has no root and is short-lived. When distress or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away.Now the one sown among the thorns— this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.But the one sown on the good ground— this is one who hears and understands the word, who does produce fruit and yields: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times what was sown.”
