Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge.

耶稣又到海边去，众人都到他跟前来，他就教导他们。

耶稣站在革尼撒勒湖边，众人拥挤他，要听上帝的道。他见有两只船靠在湖边，打鱼的人却离开船，洗网去了。有一只船是西门的，耶稣就上去，请他把船撑开，稍微离岸，就坐下，在船上教导众人。

当一大群人聚集，又有人从各城里出来见耶稣的时候，耶稣用比喻说：“有一个撒种的出去撒种。他撒的时候，有的落在路旁，被人践踏，天上的飞鸟又来把它吃掉了。有的落在磐石上，一出来就枯干了，因为得不着滋润。有的落在荆棘里，荆棘跟它一同生长，把它挤住了。又有的落在好土里，生长起来，结实百倍。”耶稣说完这些话，大声说：“有耳可听的，就应当听！”门徒问耶稣这比喻是什么意思。他说：“上帝国的奥秘只让你们知道，至于别人，就用比喻，要他们看也看不见，听也不明白。”

就在那天，耶稣从房子里出来，坐在海边。有一大群人到他那里聚集，他只好上船坐下，众人都站在岸上。他用比喻对他们讲了许多话。他说：“有一个撒种的出去撒种。他撒的时候，有的落在路旁，飞鸟来把它们吃掉了。有的落在土浅的石头地上，因为土不深，很快就长出苗来，太阳出来一晒，因为没有根就枯干了。有的落在荆棘里，荆棘长起来，把它挤住了。又有的落在好土里，就结出果实，有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。有耳的，就应当听！”门徒进前来问耶稣：“对众人讲话，为什么用比喻呢？”耶稣回答他们说：“因为天国的奥秘只让你们知道，不让他们知道。凡有的，还要给他，让他有余；凡没有的，连他所有的也要夺去。我之所以用比喻对他们讲，是因为他们看却看不清，听却听不见，也不明白。在他们身上，正应验了以赛亚的预言：‘你们听了又听，却不明白，看了又看，却看不清。因为这百姓的心麻木，耳朵发沉，眼睛闭着，免得眼睛看见，耳朵听见，心里明白，回转过来，我会医治他们。’

耶稣和门徒退到海边去，有许多人从加利利跟随他。还有许多人听见他所做的事，就从犹太、耶路撒冷、以土买、约旦河的东边，以及推罗和西顿的附近地方来到他那里。
