耶穌和他們下了山，站在一處平地上，身邊有一大群門徒，還有大批從猶太、耶路撒冷以及泰爾和西頓沿海地區來的人，要聽祂講道，盼望祂醫治他們的疾病。

因此，有大群的人跟從了祂，他們來自加利利、低加坡里、耶路撒冷、猶太和約旦河東。

耶穌知道了，就離開那個地方。很多人跟隨祂，耶穌醫好了其中所有患病的人，

但他們堅持說：「這個人從加利利開始一直到這裡，在猶太地區四處傳道，煽動民心。」

於是，耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂傳道，趕鬼。

如果你們在一個地方遭迫害，就避到另一個地方。我實在告訴你們，沒等你們走遍以色列的城鎮，人子就來了。

拿弗他利支派的哈末·多珥、加珥坦和加利利的避難城基低斯三座城及其草場。

弟兄姊妹在夜間把保羅和西拉送往庇哩亞。他們二人一到，就進了猶太會堂。

他們回答說：「難道你也是加利利人嗎？你去查查看，就會知道沒有先知是從加利利來的。」

從那天起，他們就計劃要殺害耶穌，所以耶穌不再公開地在猶太人中間露面。祂離開伯大尼，前往靠近曠野的地方，到了以法蓮城，就和門徒住下來。

一天，耶穌到山上整夜向上帝禱告。

於是，民眾便設立拿弗他利山區加利利境內的基低斯、以法蓮山區的示劍和猶大山區的基列·亞巴，即希伯崙作為避難城。

當時，有些外族人、猶太人及其官長企圖惡待使徒，用石頭打他們。保羅和巴拿巴得知後，就逃往呂高尼的路司得和特庇二城並周圍的地區，

庇哩亞的弟兄姊妹立刻送保羅到海邊，西拉和提摩太仍然留在庇哩亞。

也有些人說：「祂是基督。」還有些人說：「不會吧，基督怎麼會出自加利利呢？

他們又要抓耶穌，但祂從他們手中逃脫了。後來，耶穌到了約旦河東岸約翰從前施洗的地方，在那裡住下來。許多人來到祂那裡。他們說：「雖然約翰沒有行過神蹟，可是約翰所說關於這人的事全是真的。」
