He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

Jesus looked around at them in anger. He was very upset because their hearts were stubborn. Then he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand had become as good as new.

They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts.

Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger,

Then he told the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored, as good as the other.

I don’t want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you will not be conceited: A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

for forty years. Therefore I was provoked to anger with that generation and said,“ They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.”

And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.Make the minds of these people dull; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved.

He answered,“ I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out.”As he approached and saw the city, he wept for it,saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children among you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in your midst, because you did not recognize the time when God visited you.”

Then the king responded to the man of God,“ Plead for the favor of the LORD your God and pray for me so that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God pleaded for the favor of the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him and became as it had been at first.

Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for he has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.No one comes to his senses; no one has the perception or insight to say,“ I burned half of it in the fire, I also baked bread on its coals, I roasted meat and ate. Should I make something detestable with the rest of it? Should I bow down to a block of wood?”He feeds on ashes. His deceived mind has led him astray, and he cannot rescue himself, or say,“ Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

For forty years I was disgusted with that generation; I said,“ They are a people whose hearts go astray; they do not know my ways.”

“ Go,” he told him,“ wash in the pool of Siloam”( which means“ Sent”). So he left, washed, and came back seeing.

In all their suffering, he suffered, and the angel of his presence saved them. He redeemed them because of his love and compassion; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he became their enemy and fought against them.

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.And David says, Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually.

With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

But the Lord answered him and said,“ Hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you untie his ox or donkey from the feeding trough on the Sabbath and lead it to water?

When he saw them, he told them,“ Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And while they were going, they were cleansed.

Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, but never understand; you will look and look, but never perceive.For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back— and I would heal them.

After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

And they said to the mountains and to the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,

I was greatly displeased and threw all of Tobiah’s household possessions out of the room.

but their minds were hardened. For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

“ Get up,” Jesus told him,“ pick up your mat and walk.”Instantly the man got well, picked up his mat, and started to walk. Now that day was the Sabbath,

“ Listen, you deaf! Look, you blind, so that you may see.Who is blind but my servant, or deaf like my messenger I am sending? Who is blind like my dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the LORD?Though seeing many things, you pay no attention. Though his ears are open, he does not listen.”

And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.
