耶稣问他们：“在安息日可以行善还是作恶，救命还是害命？”他们却不做声。

復問眾曰：『禮日當行善乎？抑作惡乎？救生乎？抑戕生乎？』眾皆嘿然不答。

Then Jesus asked them,“ Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

Then Jesus asked them,“ What does the Law say we should do on the Sabbath day? Should we do good? Or should we do evil? Should we save life? Or should we kill?” But no one answered.

And he said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

Then he turned to his critics and asked,“ Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him.

Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

耶稣对他们说：“我问你们，在安息日行善行恶，救命害命，哪样是合法的呢？”

那里有个一只手萎缩了的人。有人为了要控告耶稣，就问他：“安息日治病合不合法？”耶稣对他们说：“你们中间谁有一只羊在安息日掉在坑里，不抓住它，把它拉上来呢？人比羊贵重得多了！所以，在安息日做善事是合法的。”

安息日，耶稣到一个法利赛人的领袖家里去吃饭，他们就窥探他。这时在他面前有一个患水肿病的人。耶稣回答律法师和法利赛人，说：“安息日治病合不合法？”他们却不说话。耶稣扶着那人，治好了他，叫他走了。耶稣对他们说：“你们中间谁有儿子或有牛在安息日掉在井里，不立刻拉他上来呢？”

他又对他们说：“安息日是为人设立的，人不是为安息日设立的。所以，人子也是安息日的主。”

于是用双手按着她，她立刻直起腰来，就归荣耀给神。会堂的主管因为耶稣在安息日治病，就很生气，对众人说：“有六天应当做工，那六天之内可以来求医，在安息日却不可。”主回答他：“假冒为善的人哪，难道你们各人在安息日不解开槽上的牛和驴，牵去喝水吗？何况她本是亚伯拉罕的后裔，被撒但捆绑了十八年，不该在安息日这天解开她的绑吗？”耶稣说这些话，他的敌人都惭愧了；所有的人因他所做一切荣耀的事都很欢喜。

门徒不作声，因为他们在路上彼此争论谁最大。

我喜爱慈爱，不喜爱祭物；喜爱人认识神，胜于燔祭。
