又對眾人說：『在安息日行善或行惡，救命或害命，哪一樣是可行的？』他們都不作聲。

然后问众人：“在安息日应该行善还是作恶？救人还是害人？”他们都不吭声。

又对他们说：“在安息日哪一样是可以作的呢：作好事还是坏事？救命还是害命？”他们一声不响。

耶稣问他们：“在安息日可以行善还是作恶，救命还是害命？”他们却不做声。

又問眾人說：「在安息日行善行惡，救命害命，哪樣是可以的呢？」他們都不作聲。

復問眾曰：『禮日當行善乎？抑作惡乎？救生乎？抑戕生乎？』眾皆嘿然不答。

Then Jesus asked them,“ Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

Then Jesus asked them,“ What does the Law say we should do on the Sabbath day? Should we do good? Or should we do evil? Should we save life? Or should we kill?” But no one answered.

And he said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

Then he turned to his critics and asked,“ Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him.

Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

And He* said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

Then He said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

Then He said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do what is good or to do what is evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

耶穌對他們說：『我問你們，在安息日行善或行惡，救命或滅命，哪一樣是可行的？』

有一個人有隻手是枯乾的；有人詢問耶穌說：『在安息日治病、可以不可以？』意思是要控告他。耶穌對他們說：『你們中間有甚麼人有一隻羊，若安息日掉在坑裏，他不把牠抓住，拉上來呢？人比羊多麼貴重啊！所以在安息日行善事是可以的。』

安息日耶穌進了一個做議員的法利賽人家裏要喫飯；人們直窺探着他。碰巧在他面前有患水臌病的人。耶穌應時對律法師和法利賽人說：『安息日治病可以不可以？』他們都不言語。耶穌就拉着那人，醫治他，給打發走了。便對他們說：『你們中間誰有驢或牛跌在井裏，在安息之日不立刻把他拉上來呢？』

耶穌也對他們說：『是安息日為人而設立的，不是人為安息日；所以人子也是安息日的主。』

就給她按手；她立時得直起來，就將榮耀歸與上帝。會堂管事因惱怒耶穌在安息日治病，就公然對羣眾說：『有六天應當作工；故此六天之內儘可以來治病，可不要在安息之日啊。』主回答他說：『假冒為善的人哪，你們各人在安息日、不從秣槽上把牛或驢解開，牽去飲麼？這個女人，是亞伯拉罕的子孫、撒但所捆鎖的、你看，已十八年了，她不應該在安息的日子得解開、脫離這鎖鍊麼？』耶穌說了這些話，所有敵對他的人都覺得慚愧；全羣的人因他所作一切光榮的事、盡都歡喜。

他們不作聲；因為他們在路上彼此辯論着誰最大。

因為我喜悅堅貞，不喜悅祭祀；我喜悅人認識上帝，勝於人獻全燔祭。
