然后问众人：“在安息日应该行善还是作恶？救人还是害人？”他们都不吭声。

又问众人说：“在安息日行善行恶，救命害命，哪样是可以的呢？”他们都不作声。

又对他们说：“在安息日哪一样是可以作的呢：作好事还是坏事？救命还是害命？”他们一声不响。

耶稣问他们：“在安息日可以行善还是作恶，救命还是害命？”他们却不做声。

耶穌問他們：「在安息日可以行善還是作惡，救命還是害命？」他們卻不做聲。

復問眾曰：『禮日當行善乎？抑作惡乎？救生乎？抑戕生乎？』眾皆嘿然不答。

Then Jesus asked them,“ Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

Then Jesus asked them,“ What does the Law say we should do on the Sabbath day? Should we do good? Or should we do evil? Should we save life? Or should we kill?” But no one answered.

And he said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

Then he turned to his critics and asked,“ Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him.

Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

And He* said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

Then He said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

耶稣问众人：“我问你们，在安息日应该行善呢，还是作恶呢？救人呢，还是害人呢？”

里面有个人，一只手是萎缩的。法利赛人企图找借口控告耶稣，就问祂：“安息日可不可以医病呢？”耶稣回答说：“如果你们有一只羊在安息日掉进坑里，难道你们不把它拉上来吗？人比羊要贵重多了！所以在安息日行善合情合理。”

有个安息日，耶稣到一位法利赛人的首领家里作客，人们密切地监视祂。当时有一个患水肿病的人在耶稣面前，耶稣问法利赛人和律法教师：“在安息日可以医病吗？”他们都闭口不言。耶稣便扶着那人把他医好，叫他走了，然后又问他们：“如果你们有驴或牛在安息日掉进井里，难道你们不会立刻把它拉上来吗？”

安息日是为人设立的，人不是为安息日设立的。所以，人子也是安息日的主。”

耶稣双手按在她身上，她的腰立刻直了，便颂赞上帝。会堂主管看到耶稣在安息日为人治病，十分恼怒，就对众人说：“一周有六天可以工作，求医应当在这六天之内，不可在安息日！”主说：“你们这些伪君子，莫非你们在安息日不解开棚里的牛和驴，带它们去喝水吗？这妇人身为亚伯拉罕的女儿，受撒旦的捆绑十八年，难道不该在安息日为她解开捆索吗？”反对祂的人听了这番话后，都非常羞愧，众人却为耶稣的奇妙作为高兴欢喜。

他们都沉默不语，因为刚才他们在争论谁最伟大。

我喜爱怜悯之心，而非祭物；我喜爱人认识我，胜于燔祭。
