So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:“ How can Satan drive out Satan?

And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

So He summoned them and spoke to them in parables:“ How can Satan drive out Satan?

And he called them[ unto him], and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

He summoned them, and said to them in parables,“ How can Satan cast out Satan?

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.

Now when Jesus realized what they were thinking, he said to them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and no town or house divided against itself will stand.So if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges.But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.How else can someone enter a strong man’s house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can thoroughly plunder the house.Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

He taught them many things in parables, and in his teaching said to them:

But Jesus, realizing their thoughts, said to them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and a divided household falls.So if Satan too is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? I ask you this because you claim that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his possessions are safe.But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder.Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Then Jesus said to him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written:‘ You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”
