And so He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables:“ How can Satan cast out Satan?

So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:“ How can Satan drive out Satan?

Jesus called them over and responded with an illustration.“ How can Satan cast out Satan?” he asked.

And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak anything to them without a parable.

And knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and no city or house divided against itself will stand.And if Satan is casting out Satan, he has become divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?And if by Beelzebul I cast out the demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they will be your judges.But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.Or, how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.The one who is not with Me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.

And He was teaching them many things in parables, and was saying to them in His teaching,

But He knew their thoughts and said to them,“ Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.And if Satan also has been divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you claim that I cast out the demons by Beelzebul.Yet if by Beelzebul I cast out the demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they will be your judges.But if I cast out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are secure.But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, that man takes away his armor on which he had relied and distributes his plunder.The one who is not with Me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.

Then Jesus* said to him,“ Go away, Satan! For it is written:‘ You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ”

I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp.
