These are the twelve he appointed: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter),

So Jesus appointed the 12 disciples. Simon was one of them. Jesus gave him the name Peter.

He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

These are the twelve he chose: Simon( whom he named Peter),

He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, he gave the name Peter;

And He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom He gave the name Peter),

Simon, to whom He gave the name Peter;

And Simon he surnamed Peter;

He appointed twelve: To Simon he gave the name Peter;

Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas( which is by interpretation, Peter).

And when they were come in, they went up into the upper chamber, where they were abiding; both Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Thaddæus;Simon the Cananæan, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

Now this I mean, that each one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,and Matthew and Thomas, and James the son of Alphæus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor;

Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

And passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishers.

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and the Saviour Jesus Christ:

whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

but contrariwise, when they saw that I had been intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the gospel of the circumcision( for he that wrought for Peter unto the apostleship of the circumcision wrought for me also unto the Gentiles);and when they perceived the grace that was given unto me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision;

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar- Jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
