Now immediately, when Jesus realized in his spirit that they were contemplating such thoughts, he said to them,“ Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?

耶穌心中知道他們心裏這樣議論，就說：「你們心裏為甚麼這樣議論呢？

耶穌靈裡立刻知道他們心裡這樣想，就對他們說：「你們心裡為什麼想這些事呢？

耶穌心知其如是竊議、謂之曰、爾曹胡為心議斯事乎、

耶穌知其意、曰、爾曹何為竊議乎、

耶穌心知彼有此議、謂之曰、爾曹何為心中如此議乎、

耶穌立燭其意、曰：『爾心何為竊議？

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things?

Right away Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things?

And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them,“ Why do you question these things in your hearts?

Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them,“ Why do you question this in your hearts?

Right away Jesus perceived in his spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were thinking that way within themselves,* said to them,“ Why are you thinking about these things in your hearts?

But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them,“ Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?

And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Right away Jesus understood in His spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them,“ Why do you reason these things in your hearts?

Then he said to them,“ Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that he may perhaps forgive you for the intent of your heart.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself,“ If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”So Jesus answered him,“ Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied,“ Say it, Teacher.”

But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.He did not need anyone to testify about man, for he knew what was in man.

The LORD abhors the plans of the wicked, but pleasant words are pure.

When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them,“ Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

Jesus said a third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time,“ Do you love me?” and said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied,“ Feed my sheep.

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.

But there are some of you who do not believe.”( For Jesus had already known from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land?

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Get up and stand here.” So he rose and stood there.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.

I know, my God, that you examine thoughts and are pleased with integrity. With pure motives I contribute all this; and now I look with joy as your people who have gathered here contribute to you.

When Jesus saw their reaction he said,“ Why do you respond with evil in your hearts?

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

A foolish scheme is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to people.
