“ Why is this fellow talking like that? He’s saying a very evil thing! Only God can forgive sins!”

“这个人为什么这样说呢？他说僭妄的话了。除了神以外，谁能赦罪呢？”

“这个人为什么这样说呢？他说亵渎的话了。除了上帝一位之外，谁能赦罪呢？”

“这个人为什么这样说呢？他说亵渎的话了。除了神一位之外，谁能赦罪呢？”

“这是什么话？简直是亵渎上帝！除了上帝之外，谁能赦罪呢？”

“这个人为什么这样说话？他说僭妄的话了。除了神一位以外，谁能赦罪呢？”

“这个人怎么这样说话呢？他说亵渎的话！除了神一位之外，谁能赦免罪呢？”

「這個人為甚麼這樣說呢？他說僭妄的話了。除了神以外，誰能赦罪呢？」

「這個人為甚麼這樣說呢？他說褻瀆的話了。除了上帝一位之外，誰能赦罪呢？」

「這個人為甚麼這樣說呢？他說褻瀆的話了。除了神一位之外，誰能赦罪呢？」

「這是什麼話？簡直是褻瀆上帝！除了上帝之外，誰能赦罪呢？」

“這個人為甚麼這樣說話？他說僭妄的話了。除了神一位以外，誰能赦罪呢？”

『這個人為甚麼這樣說話呢？他說僭妄的話了！除了一位、就是上帝，誰能赦罪呢？』

「這個人怎麼這樣說話呢？他說褻瀆的話！除了神一位之外，誰能赦免罪呢？」

意謂斯人何出此言、乃僭妄也、上帝而外、誰能赦罪乎、

斯人何僭妄若是、上帝而外、誰能赦罪乎、

此人何敢如此言、此褻瀆也、天主之外、孰能赦罪、

『異哉斯人之言、何其僭妄之甚也！捨天主外、誰能赦罪者？』

“ Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”

“ Why does he speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God alone?”

“ Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can forgive sins but one, even God?

“ Why does He speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Why doth this[ man] thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

“ Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

“ I am the one who wipes out your lawless acts. I do it because of who I am. I will not remember your sins anymore.

You are the Lord our God. You show us your tender love. You forgive us. But we have turned against you.

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to think,“ Who is this fellow who says such an evil thing? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Lord, who is a God like you? You forgive sin. You forgive your people when they do what is wrong. You don’t stay angry forever. Instead, you take delight in showing your faithful love to them.

The other guests began to talk about this among themselves. They said,“ Who is this who even forgives sins?”

But you forgive. So we can serve you with respect.

“ You have heard him say a very evil thing against God. What do you think?” They all found him guilty and said he must die.

If that is true, what about the one the Father set apart as his very own? What about this one the Father sent into the world? Why do you charge me with saying a very evil thing? Is it because I said,‘ I am God’s Son’?

“ We are not throwing stones at you for any good work,” they replied.“ We are stoning you for saying a very evil thing. You are only a man. But you claim to be God.”

Then he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were very happy when they saw the Lord.Again Jesus said,“ May peace be with you! The Father has sent me. So now I am sending you.”He then breathed on them. He said,“ Receive the Holy Spirit.If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Then some teachers of the law said to themselves,“ This fellow is saying a very evil thing!”

Then the high priest tore his clothes. He said,“ He has spoken a very evil thing against God! Why do we need any more witnesses? You have heard him say this evil thing.

Who can bring what is pure from something that isn’t pure? No one!
