Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”

Then Jesus said to them,“ The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

Then Jesus asked them,“ Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.

So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked,“ Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”Some claimed that he was. Others said,“ No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted,“ I am the man.”“ How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.He replied,“ The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
