亞希突的兒子撒督、和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒做祭司長；西萊雅做祕書；

跟隨他的也有撒督亞比亞他和利未人，抬着上帝的櫃；他們將上帝的櫃放下，在亞比亞他身邊，等着眾民全都從城裏往前走出來。

大衛知道掃羅設毒計要害他，就對祭司亞比亞他說：『將神諭像拿近前來。』

所羅門王回答他母親說：『你為甚麼單替亞多尼雅求要書念的女子亞比煞呢？你也為他求王位吧！因為他是我哥哥；而且他也有祭司亞比亞他擁護他，又有洗魯雅的兒子約押擁護他呀！』

祭司撒督和亞比亞他豈不是都要和你在那裏麼？你從王宮裏聽見甚麼，就要告訴祭司撒督和亞比亞他。

亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子名叫亞比亞他溜走了，逃到大衛那裏。亞比亞他將掃羅殺害永恆主祭司的事告訴大衛。大衛就對亞比亞他說：『那一天多益在那裏、我就知道他一定會告訴掃羅的：哎，你父系全家族的性命都是我害死的。
