「你要取細麵，烤成十二個餅，每餅用麵伊法十分之二。要把餅擺列兩行，每行六個，在耶和華面前精金的桌子上；又要把淨乳香放在每行餅上，作為紀念，就是作為火祭獻給耶和華。每安息日要常擺在耶和華面前；這為以色列人作永遠的約。這餅是要給亞倫和他子孫的；他們要在聖處吃，為永遠的定例，因為在獻給耶和華的火祭中是至聖的。」

大衛到了挪伯祭司亞希米勒那裏，亞希米勒戰戰兢兢地出來迎接他，問他說：「你為甚麼獨自來，沒有人跟隨呢？」

王對祭司亞比亞他說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前擡過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不將你殺死。」所羅門就革除亞比亞他，不許他作耶和華的祭司。這樣，便應驗耶和華在示羅論以利家所說的話。

亞倫和他兒子要在會幕門口吃這羊的肉和筐內的餅。他們吃那些贖罪之物，好承接聖職，使他們成聖；只是外人不可吃，因為這是聖物。

亞多尼雅與洗魯雅的兒子約押，和祭司亞比亞他商議；二人就順從他，幫助他。

撒督和擡神約櫃的利未人也一同來了，將神的約櫃放下。亞比亞他上來，等着眾民從城裏出來過去。

大衛知道掃羅設計謀害他，就對祭司亞比亞他說：「將以弗得拿過來。」

所羅門王對他母親說：「為何單替他求書念的女子亞比煞呢？也可以為他求國吧！他是我的哥哥，他有祭司亞比亞他和洗魯雅的兒子約押為輔佐。」

祭司撒督和亞比亞他豈不都在那裏嗎？你在王宮裏聽見甚麼，就要告訴祭司撒督和亞比亞他。

亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子，名叫亞比亞他，逃到大衛那裏。亞比亞他將掃羅殺耶和華祭司的事告訴大衛。大衛對亞比亞他說：「那日我見以東人多益在那裏，就知道他必告訴掃羅。你父的全家喪命，都是因我的緣故。
