那法利賽人站着，用以下這些話禱告說：「上帝啊，我感謝你，我不像其他的人、勒索、不義、姦淫，或者竟像這個收稅人。

眾人看見，都唧唧咕咕地彼此議論說，『「罪人」家裏、他還進去投宿呢！』

他們對人說：『你在你那兒呆着吧！不要挨近我，因為我的「屬聖」會染着你。』主說：這些人是我鼻中的煙，是整天燒𤏲的火。

法利賽人以及經學士、就唧唧咕咕地彼此議論說：『這個人接待一些「罪人」，又和他們一同喫飯哪。』耶穌就對他們講這個比喻說：『你們中間甚麼人有一百隻羊，失掉其中的一隻，不把這九十九隻撇在野地，去找那失掉的，直到找着呢？找着了，就擱在肩膀上，直歡喜。來到家裏，就招集朋友和同鄉，對他們說：「和我一同歡喜吧，因為我那失掉的羊、我已經找着了。「我告訴你們，為了一個罪人悔改，在天上也必有這樣的喜樂，比為了九十九個無需乎悔改的義人，喜樂還要大呢。

法利賽人看見，就對耶穌的門徒說：『你們的先生為甚麼跟收稅人和「罪人」一同喫飯呢？』

惟獨屬靈的人卻審察萬事，而自己倒不被甚麼人所審察。

他堅忍着罪人這樣地頂撞他，你們要跟他比比，免得你們心灰意冷。

『這個人為甚麼這樣說話呢？他說僭妄的話了！除了一位、就是上帝，誰能赦罪呢？』

因為人子來，正要尋找拯救失喪的人。』

他若不聽他們，你要告訴教會；倘若連教會他也不聽，你就拿他當外國人和收稅人得啦。
