They say,‘ Keep to yourself, don’t come near me, for I am too holy for you!’ These practices are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all day long.

And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining,“ This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”So he told them this parable:“ What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it?When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them,‘ Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.

For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.

“ Why does he speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

If he doesn’t pay attention to them, tell the church. If he doesn’t pay attention even to the church, let him be like a Gentile and a tax collector to you.
