As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him.

Then, moving on, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and He said to him,“ Follow Me!” So he got up and followed Him.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the[ son] of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax booth.“ Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,“ Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.

Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him.So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him.Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them.But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples,“ Why do you eat and drink with such scum?”Jesus answered them,“ Healthy people don’t need a doctor— sick people do.I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.”

Matthew, Thomas, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( who was called the zealot),

Jesus called out to them,“ Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”And they left their nets at once and followed him.A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners.But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with such scum?”When Jesus heard this, he said,“ Healthy people don’t need a doctor— sick people do.”Then he added,“ Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture:‘ I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

Jesus called out to them,“ Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”And they left their nets at once and followed him.A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat repairing their nets.He called them at once, and they also followed him, leaving their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men.

When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( the zealot), and Judas( son of James).
