耶稣对她们说：“不要怕！去告诉我的弟兄们，要他们到加利利去。在那里，他们将见到我。”

十一个门徒往加利利去，到了耶稣给他们指定的那座山上。他们看见耶稣，就拜他，不过还有人疑惑。

这些事以后，耶稣在太巴列湖边又向门徒们显明了自己。他是这样显明自己的：

这时候，所有的门徒都离开他逃跑了。

所以，你们反而更要饶恕他、安慰他，免得他被过度的忧伤吞没了。

一连好几天，他向那些与他一起从加利利上到耶路撒冷的人显现；这些人如今在民间做了他的见证人，

并且向矶法显现，然后向十二使徒显现，

彼得正在下边院子里的时候，大祭司的一个女仆过来了。她看见彼得在取暖，就注视着他，说：“你也与那个拿撒勒人耶稣是一伙的。”彼得却否认说：“我既不明白，也不知道你在说什么。”于是他就出去，到了门廊。这时候，鸡叫了。那女仆看见他，又开始对站在旁边的人说：“这个人是与他们一伙的。”彼得再次否认。过了一会儿，站在旁边的人又对彼得说：“你真的是与他们一伙的，因为你也是加利利人。”他就开始赌咒并起誓说：“我不认识你们所讲的这个人。”立时，鸡叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶稣对他说过的话：“鸡叫两遍以前，你会三次不认我”，他就忍不住痛哭起来。
