耶穌對她們說：「不要害怕。去告訴我的弟兄，叫他們到加利利去，他們將在那裡見到我。」

十一個門徒趕到加利利，到了耶穌和他們約定的山上，看到耶穌就敬拜祂，但有些人仍然心存疑惑。

後來，耶穌在提比哩亞海邊又向門徒顯現。當時的情形是這樣的：

那時，門徒都撇下耶穌，各自逃命去了。

你們現在要饒恕他、安慰他，免得他憂傷過度而一蹶不振。

之後有許多天，那些從加利利跟隨祂上耶路撒冷的人都看見過祂，他們如今在百姓中都是祂的見證人。

並曾向彼得顯現，又向十二使徒顯現；

那時，彼得仍在院子裡，大祭司的一個婢女走過來，見彼得在烤火，打量了他一番，說：「你也是那個拿撒勒人耶穌的同夥。」「我不知道也不明白你在說什麼！」彼得一邊否認，一邊躲到外院去。那時，雞叫了。一會兒，那婢女又看見彼得，就對旁邊的人說：「他是跟他們一夥的！」彼得又加以否認。再過了一會兒，旁觀的人也指著彼得說：「你一定是跟他們一夥的，因為你也是加利利人！」彼得又賭咒又發誓，說：「我根本不認識你們說的這個人。」就在這時候，雞又叫了。彼得突然想起耶穌曾對他說：「在雞叫兩次以前，你會三次不認我」，忍不住痛哭起來。
