There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled togetherand saying,“ It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.”Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread. (niv)

“ You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied,“ how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” (niv)

Even if I summoned him and he responded, I do not believe he would give me a hearing. (niv)

Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor. (niv)
