於是耶穌心裏又悲憤歎息，來到墳墓前。那墳墓是個洞，有塊石頭擋住。

你在這裏有甚麼權利？你在這裏有甚麼人，竟在這裏為你自己鑿墳墓，在高處為自己鑿墳墓，在碞石中為自己開拓安身之所呢？

她們彼此說：『誰可以給我們把石頭從墳墓門輥開呢？』望上一看，卻見石頭已經輥回去了！那石頭原是極大。

忽然地大震動；因為有主的一個使者從天上下來，走上前去，把石頭輥開，坐在上面。

他把身體取下來，用細麻布裹好了，將他安放在一個石頭鑿成的塋墓裏，是從未有人安放過的。

這些事以後，有亞利馬太人約瑟——他是耶穌的門徒，卻因怕猶太人而隱密地做門徒——他求彼拉多讓他把耶穌的身體取去。彼拉多准許了，他就來，把耶穌的身體取去。又有尼哥底母、先前夜裏來見耶穌的、也來了，帶着沒藥和沉香的混合品、約有一百磅。他們領了耶穌的身體，就用細麻布加上香料綁好，照猶太人豫備安葬的規矩辦。在耶穌釘十字架的地方有個園子，園子裏有座新的墳墓，裏面沒有人安放過。就在那裏，為了猶太人之豫備日的緣故，因那墳墓相近，他們就把耶穌安放了。

約瑟取了身體，用潔淨的細麻布裹好了，安放在他自己的新墳墓裏，就是他在磐石裏鑿成的；又把一塊大石頭輥到墳墓門口，才走。
