虽然他没有做过残暴之事，口里也没有欺诈，但他的坟墓却被安排在恶人的坟墓当中；不过他死的时候却被安置在财主的坟墓中。

耶稣自己里面再次感到愤怒，来到坟墓那里。那坟墓是个洞穴，有一块石头放置在洞口。

你在这里有什么权利，你在这里有什么人，你竟然在这里为自己开凿坟墓？你这在高处为自己开凿坟墓、在岩石中为自己雕凿住所的人哪！

她们互相说：“谁能替我们滚开墓穴口的石头呢？”原来那块石头非常大。可是她们抬头一看，见石头已经被滚开了。

忽然发生了强烈的地震，主的一位天使从天上降下来，上前把那石头滚开，坐在上面。

他把遗体取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在一座岩石凿成的墓穴里，那里从来没有安放过人。

这些事以后，亚利马太的约瑟请求彼拉多，要领取耶稣的遗体。约瑟也是耶稣的门徒，不过是暗暗地做门徒，因为他怕那些犹太人。彼拉多准许了，他就来把耶稣的遗体领去。当初在夜里来到耶稣那里的尼克迪莫也来了。他带着没药和沉香的混合香料，大约三十公斤。他们领了耶稣的遗体，按犹太人预备葬礼的规矩，用细麻布条和香料把遗体缠裹起来。耶稣被钉十字架的地方有一个园子，园子里有一座新墓穴，从来没有安放过人。因为那天是犹太人的预备日，那墓穴又在附近，他们就把耶稣安放在那里。

约瑟领了耶稣的遗体，用洁白的细麻布裹好，安放在自己的新墓穴里，这墓穴是他凿在岩石里的。他又滚来一块大石头，堵住墓穴口，就离开了。
