與耶穌熟悉的人，和從加利利跟隨他來的婦女，都遠遠地站著，看這些事。

抹大拉的馬利亞和另一個馬利亞都在那裡，對著墳墓坐著。

還有幾個蒙了醫治、脫離污鬼與疾病的婦女，其中有稱為抹大拉的馬利亞，曾有七個鬼從她身上趕出來；有希律的管家古撒的妻子約亞拿，又有蘇珊娜，和許多別的婦女，她們都用自己的財物供給耶穌和門徒。

過了安息日，在禮拜日天亮的時候，抹大拉的馬利亞和另一個馬利亞來看墳墓。

禮拜日的清早，耶穌復活了，先向抹大拉的馬利亞顯現，耶穌曾經從她身上趕出七個鬼。

我的良朋密友因我的災禍，都站到一旁去；我的親人也都站得遠遠的。

他不是木匠的兒子嗎？他母親不是馬利亞，他弟弟不是雅各、約瑟、西門和猶大嗎？

難道我們沒有權利，像其餘的使徒、主的弟兄和磯法一樣，帶著信主的妻子往來嗎？

站在耶穌十字架旁邊的，有他母親和他母親的姊妹，還有高羅巴的妻子馬利亞，和抹大拉的馬利亞。耶穌看見母親，又看見他所愛的那門徒站在旁邊，就對母親說：“母親（“母親”原文作“婦人”），看！你的兒子。”然後他對那門徒說：“看！你的母親。”從那時起，那門徒就把她接到自己的家裡去了。

神和主耶穌基督的僕人雅各，向散居各地的十二支派問安。

抹大拉的馬利亞和約西的母親馬利亞都看見安放他的地方。過了安息日，抹大拉的馬利亞、雅各的母親馬利亞和撒羅米，買了香膏，要去膏耶穌。

至於其餘的使徒，除了主的弟弟雅各以外，我都沒有見過。

馬利亞站在墳墓外面哭泣。她哭的時候，屈身往裡面觀看，看見兩個身穿白衣的天使，坐在安放耶穌身體的地方，一個在頭那邊，一個在腳那邊。天使問她：“婦人，你為甚麼哭？”她說：“有人把我的主搬走了，我不知道他們把他放在哪裡。”馬利亞說了這話，就轉過身來，看見耶穌站在那裡，卻不知道他就是耶穌。耶穌對她說：“婦人，你為甚麼哭？你找誰呢？”馬利亞以為耶穌是園丁，就對他說：“先生，如果是你把他挪去了，請告訴我你把他放在甚麼地方，我好去搬回來。”耶穌對她說：“馬利亞！”她轉過身來，用希伯來話對他說：“拉波尼！”（就是“老師”的意思。）耶穌說：“你不要拉住我，因為我還沒有上去見父。你要到我的弟兄們那裡去，告訴他們我要上去見我的父，也是你們的父；見我的神，也是你們的神。”抹大拉的馬利亞就去，向門徒報信說：“我已經看見主了！”她又把主對她所說的話告訴他們。
