Hebrews 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,by the fresh and living way that he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

Hebrews 9:3-12
And after the second curtain there was a tent called the holy of holies.It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.And above the ark were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Now is not the time to speak of these things in detail.So with these things prepared like this, the priests enter continually into the outer tent as they perform their duties.But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent, and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the Holy Place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle was standing.This was a symbol for the time then present, when gifts and sacrifices were offered that could not perfect the conscience of the worshiper.They served only for matters of food and drink and various washings; they are external regulations imposed until the new order came.But now Christ has come as the high priest of the good things to come. He passed through the greater and more perfect tent not made with hands, that is, not of this creation,and he entered once for all into the Most Holy Place not by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood, and so he himself secured eternal redemption.

Leviticus 16:2-19
and the LORD said to Moses:“ Tell Aaron your brother that he must not enter at any time into the holy place inside the veil-canopy in front of the atonement plate that is on the ark so that he may not die, for I will appear in the cloud over the atonement plate.“ In this way Aaron is to enter into the sanctuary– with a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.He must put on a holy linen tunic, linen leggings are to cover his body, and he is to wrap himself with a linen sash and wrap his head with a linen turban. They are holy garments, so he must bathe his body in water and put them on.He must also take two male goats from the congregation of the Israelites for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.Then Aaron is to present the sin offering bull which is for himself and is to make atonement on behalf of himself and his household.He must then take the two goats and stand them before the LORD at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,and Aaron is to cast lots over the two goats, one lot for the LORD and one lot for Azazel.Aaron must then present the goat which has been designated by lot for the LORD, and he is to make it a sin offering,but the goat which has been designated by lot for Azazel is to be stood alive before the LORD to make atonement on it by sending it away to Azazel into the wilderness.“ Aaron is to present the sin offering bull which is for himself, and he is to make atonement on behalf of himself and his household. He is to slaughter the sin offering bull which is for himself,and take a censer full of coals of fire from the altar before the LORD and a full double handful of finely ground fragrant incense, and bring them inside the veil-canopy.He must then put the incense on the fire before the LORD, and the cloud of incense will cover the atonement plate which is above the ark of the testimony, so that he will not die.Then he is to take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the eastern face of the atonement plate, and in front of the atonement plate he is to sprinkle some of the blood seven times with his finger.“ He must then slaughter the sin offering goat which is for the people. He is to bring its blood inside the veil-canopy, and he is to do with its blood just as he did to the blood of the bull: He is to sprinkle it on the atonement plate and in front of the atonement plate.So he is to make atonement for the holy place from the impurities of the Israelites and from their transgressions with regard to all their sins, and thus he is to do for the Meeting Tent which resides with them in the midst of their impurities.Nobody is to be in the Meeting Tent when he enters to make atonement in the holy place until he goes out, and he has made atonement on his behalf, on behalf of his household, and on behalf of the whole assembly of Israel.“ Then he is to go out to the altar which is before the LORD and make atonement for it. He is to take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it all around on the horns of the altar.Then he is to sprinkle on it some of the blood with his finger seven times, and cleanse and consecrate it from the impurities of the Israelites.

Exodus 26:31-34
“ You are to make a special curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; it is to be made with cherubim, the work of an artistic designer.You are to hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold, set in four silver bases.You are to hang this curtain under the clasps and bring the ark of the testimony in there behind the curtain. The curtain will make a division for you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place.You are to put the atonement lid on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

He made the most holy place; its length was 30 feet, corresponding to the width of the temple, and its width 30 feet. He plated it with 600 talents of fine gold.The gold nails weighed 50 shekels; he also plated the upper areas with gold.In the most holy place he made two images of cherubim and plated them with gold.The combined wing span of the cherubs was 30 feet. One of the first cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched one wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the second cherub’s wings.Likewise one of the second cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched the other wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the first cherub’s wings.The combined wingspan of these cherubim was 30 feet. They stood upright, facing inward.He made the curtain out of violet, purple, crimson, and white fabrics, and embroidered on it decorative cherubim.

Exodus 40:20-21
He took the testimony and put it in the ark, attached the poles to the ark, and then put the atonement lid on the ark.And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, hung the protecting curtain, and shielded the ark of the testimony from view, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
