Hebrews 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus—he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain( that is, through his flesh)—and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 9:3-12
Behind the second curtain was a tent called the most holy place.It had the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant, covered with gold on all sides, in which was a gold jar containing the manna, Aaron’s staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.The cherubim of glory were above the ark overshadowing the mercy seat. It is not possible to speak about these things in detail right now.With these things prepared like this, the priests enter the first room repeatedly, performing their ministry.But the high priest alone enters the second room, and he does that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.The Holy Spirit was making it clear that the way into the most holy place had not yet been disclosed while the first tabernacle was still standing.This is a symbol for the present time, during which gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the worshiper’s conscience.They are physical regulations and only deal with food, drink, and various washings imposed until the time of the new order.But Christ has appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come. In the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands( that is, not of this creation),he entered the most holy place once for all time, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

Leviticus 16:2-19
The LORD said to Moses,“ Tell your brother Aaron that he may not come whenever he wants into the holy place behind the curtain in front of the mercy seat on the ark or else he will die, because I appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.“ Aaron is to enter the most holy place in this way: with a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.He is to wear a holy linen tunic, and linen undergarments are to be on his body. He is to tie a linen sash around him and wrap his head with a linen turban. These are holy garments; he must bathe his body with water before he wears them.He is to take from the Israelite community two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.“ Aaron will present the bull for his sin offering and make atonement for himself and his household.Next he will take the two goats and place them before the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting.After Aaron casts lots for the two goats, one lot for the LORD and the other for an uninhabitable place,he is to present the goat chosen by lot for the LORD and sacrifice it as a sin offering.But the goat chosen by lot for an uninhabitable place is to be presented alive before the LORD to make atonement with it by sending it into the wilderness for an uninhabitable place.“ When Aaron presents the bull for his sin offering and makes atonement for himself and his household, he will slaughter the bull for his sin offering.Then he is to take a firepan full of blazing coals from the altar before the LORD and two handfuls of finely ground fragrant incense, and bring them inside the curtain.He is to put the incense on the fire before the LORD, so that the cloud of incense covers the mercy seat that is over the testimony, or else he will die.He is to take some of the bull’s blood and sprinkle it with his finger against the east side of the mercy seat; then he will sprinkle some of the blood with his finger before the mercy seat seven times.“ When he slaughters the male goat for the people’s sin offering and brings its blood inside the curtain, he will do the same with its blood as he did with the bull’s blood: He is to sprinkle it against the mercy seat and in front of it.He will make atonement for the most holy place in this way for all their sins because of the Israelites’ impurities and rebellious acts. He will do the same for the tent of meeting that remains among them, because it is surrounded by their impurities.No one may be in the tent of meeting from the time he enters to make atonement in the most holy place until he leaves after he has made atonement for himself, his household, and the whole assembly of Israel.Then he will go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it. He is to take some of the bull’s blood and some of the goat’s blood and put it on the horns on all sides of the altar.He is to sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to cleanse and set it apart from the Israelites’ impurities.

Exodus 26:31-34
“ You are to make a curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen with a design of cherubim worked into it.Hang it on four gold-plated pillars of acacia wood that have gold hooks and that stand on four silver bases.Hang the curtain under the clasps and bring the ark of the testimony there behind the curtain, so the curtain will make a separation for you between the holy place and the most holy place.Put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens— Jesus the Son of God— let us hold fast to our confession.For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Then he made the most holy place; its length corresponded to the width of the temple, 30 feet, and its width was 30 feet. He overlaid it with forty-five thousand pounds of fine gold.The weight of the nails was twenty ounces of gold, and he overlaid the ceiling with gold.He made two cherubim of sculptured work, for the most holy place, and he overlaid them with gold.The overall length of the wings of the cherubim was 30 feet: the wing of one was 7½ feet, touching the wall of the room; its other wing was 7½ feet, touching the wing of the other cherub.The wing of the other cherub was 7½ feet, touching the wall of the room; its other wing was 7½ feet, reaching the wing of the other cherub.The wingspan of these cherubim was 30 feet. They stood on their feet and faced the larger room.He made the curtain of blue, purple, and crimson yarn and fine linen, and he wove cherubim into it.

Exodus 40:20-21
Moses took the testimony and placed it in the ark, and attached the poles to the ark. He set the mercy seat on top of the ark.He brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the curtain for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.

Hebrews 6:19
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
