同样，祭司长们也与经文士们和长老们一起嘲笑，说：“他救了别人，却不能救自己！他是以色列的王！现在让他从十字架上下来吧，这样我们就信靠他！他依靠神，如果神喜悦他，就让神现在救他吧！因为他说过‘我是神的儿子。’”

群狗围绕我，一伙恶党包围我，他们刺穿我的双手、我的双脚；我能数算我全身的骨头；他们又瞪着眼看我。

于是祭司长们和法利赛人召集了议会，说：“这个人行了很多神迹，我们该做什么呢？如果任凭他这样下去，大家都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地和国家！”其中有一个人叫该亚法，是当年的大祭司，对他们说：“你们什么都不懂！也不想一想，一个人替民众死，免得全民族灭亡，这对你们是有益处的。”他说这话不是出于自己，只因他是当年的大祭司，就预言了耶稣要替全民族而死；而且不仅是替犹太民族死，也是要把神的那些四散的儿女都召集合一。

为什么万国悖逆，万民图谋虚妄的事呢？地上的君王们站出来，首领们一同商定，敌对耶和华和他的受膏者，说：“让我们挣断他们的捆绑，把他们的绳索从我们身上甩掉！”坐在天上的那一位会讥笑，主会嘲笑他们。

要知道，即使神的旨意要你们因行善而受苦，也比因作恶而受苦更好，因为基督也曾一次为了赎罪而受苦，就是义的代替不义的，为要把你们带到神的面前。照着肉身说，基督固然被处死了；但照着灵说，他却得以复活了。

耶稣回答他们，说：“人子得荣耀的时候到了！我确确实实地告诉你们：一粒麦子如果不落在地里死去，它仍然是一粒；如果死了，就结出很多子粒来。
