祭司长、经学家和长老也同样讥笑他，说：“他救了别人，却不能救自己。如果他是以色列的王，现在可以从十字架上下来，我们就信他。他信靠神；如果神喜悦他，就让神现在救他吧，因为他说自己是神的儿子。”

犬类围着我，恶党环绕我，他们扎了（按照《马索拉文本》，“他们扎了”作“像狮子”；现参照《七十士译本》等古译本翻译）我的手我的脚。我能数算我全身的骨头，他们却瞪着眼看我。

于是祭司长和法利赛人召开公议会，说：“这个人行了许多神迹，我们怎么办呢？我们若让他这样，所有的人都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地，除灭我们的民族。”他们当中有一位该亚法，是那年作大祭司的，对他们说：“你们什么都不知道，也不去想想，一个人代替人民死，免得整个民族灭亡，这对你们是有益的。”他说这话不是由于自己，而是因为他是那年的大祭司，所以预言耶稣要替犹太民族死；不但替犹太民族死，也要把散居各地的神的儿女招聚成为一体。

列国为什么骚动？万民为什么空谋妄想？世上的君王起来，首领聚在一起，敌对耶和华和他所膏立的，说：“我们来挣断他们给我们的束缚，摆脱他们的绳索！”那坐在天上的必发笑，主必讥笑他们。

如果神的旨意是要你们受苦，那么为行善受苦，总比为行恶受苦好。因为基督也曾一次为你们的罪死了，就是义的代替不义的，为要领你们到神面前。就肉体的方面说，他曾死去；就灵的方面说，他复活了；

耶稣对他们说：“人子得荣耀的时候到了！我实实在在告诉你们，一粒麦子若不落在地里死了，仍旧是一粒；如果死了，就结出许多果实来。
