過者誚之、搖首曰、噫、爾毀殿、三日建之、

過者譏之、搖首曰、噫、毀聖殿三日又建之者、

過者莫不搖首而訕之曰：『噫嘻！爾毀聖殿、而於三曰重建之者！

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying,“ Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads, and saying,“ Ha! The One who would demolish the sanctuary and build it in three days,

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads and saying,“ Aha! You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

“ We heard him say,‘ I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another, not made with hands.’” (niv)

I am an object of scorn to my accusers; when they see me, they shake their heads. (niv)

All who pass your way clap their hands at you; they scoff and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?” (niv)

All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads.“ He trusts in the Lord,” they say,“ let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.” (niv)

But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; assailants gathered against me without my knowledge. They slandered me without ceasing.Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked; they gnashed their teeth at me.How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you.Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.They sneer at me and say,“ Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it.” (niv)

For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt. (niv)

You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you.Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none. (niv)

and declared,“ This fellow said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’” (niv)

For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face. (niv)

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their headsand saying,“ You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” (niv)

Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me.I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. (niv)

The Jews then responded to him,“ What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”Jesus answered them,“ Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”They replied,“ It has taken forty- six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”But the temple he had spoken of was his body.After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. (niv)
