But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.For it is written:“ As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

But in my adversity they rejoiced And gathered together; Attackers gathered against me, And I did not know it; They tore at me and did not cease;With ungodly mockers at feasts They gnashed at me with their teeth.Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue me from their destructions, My precious life from the lions.

You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor; My adversaries are all before You.Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

They were sons of fools, Yes, sons of vile men; They were scourged from the land.“ And now I am their taunting song; Yes, I am their byword.They abhor me, they keep far from me; They do not hesitate to spit in my face.Because He has loosed my bowstring and afflicted me, They have cast off restraint before me.At my right hand the rabble arises; They push away my feet, And they raise against me their ways of destruction.

Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;

But what does the divine response say to him?“ I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.

Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon.They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

And all the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage.Then the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate said to Mordecai,“ Why do you transgress the king’s command?”Now it happened, when they spoke to him daily and he would not listen to them, that they told it to Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s words would stand; for Mordecai had told them that he was a Jew.When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath.

Thus says the Lord, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, Because of the Lord who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel; And He has chosen You.”

Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him.

Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
