Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel,[ and] his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful,[ and] the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote[ him].

Yet I have left[ me] seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were[ our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.But he[ was] wounded for our transgressions,[ he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace[ was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
