“ Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate.“ You have said so,” Jesus replied.

Those who passed by shouted at Jesus and made fun of him. They shook their heads and said,“ So you are going to destroy the temple and build it again in three days?Then come down from the cross! Save yourself!”In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law made fun of him among themselves.“ He saved others,” they said.“ But he can’t save himself!Let this Messiah, this king of Israel, come down now from the cross! When we see that, we will believe.” Those who were being crucified with Jesus also made fun of him.

The soldiers also came up and poked fun at him. They offered him wine vinegar.They said,“ If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”

It was about noon on Preparation Day in Passover Week.“ Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.But they shouted,“ Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!”“ Should I crucify your king?” Pilate asked.“ We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered.

He told his father as well as his brothers. Then his father rebuked him. He said,“ What about this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers really do that? Will we really come and bow down to the ground in front of you?”
