又進了總督府，對耶穌說：「你是哪裏來的？」耶穌卻不回答。

他們把耶穌從該亞法那裏押解到總督府。那時是清早。他們自己卻不進總督府，恐怕染了污穢，不能吃逾越節的宴席。

總督的兵把耶穌帶進總督府，把全營的兵都聚集在耶穌那裏。他們脫了他的衣服，穿上一件朱紅色的袍子，用荊棘編了冠冕，戴在他頭上，拿一根蘆葦稈放在他右手裏，跪在他面前，戲弄他，說：「萬歲，猶太人的王！」他們又向他吐唾沫，拿蘆葦稈打他的頭。他們戲弄完了，就給他脫了袍子，又穿上他自己的衣服，帶他出去，要釘十字架。

那時，祭司長和百姓的長老聚集在那稱為該亞法的大祭司的院裏。

在凱撒利亞有一個人名叫哥尼流，是意大利營的百夫長。

於是彼拉多又進了總督府，叫耶穌來，對他說：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」
