He took it down, and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no one had ever been laid.It was the day of the Preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.The women, who had come with him out of Galilee, followed after, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.They returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

When the king had heard the words of the law, he tore his clothes.The king commanded Hilkiah, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Abdon the son of Micah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,“ Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for great is Yahweh’s wrath that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept Yahweh’s word, to do according to all that is written in this book.”So Hilkiah, and they whom the king had commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe( now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter), and they spoke to her to that effect.She said to them,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel says:‘ Tell the man who sent you to me,“ Yahweh says,‘ Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath is poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’”’But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, you shall tell him this,‘ Yahweh, the God of Israel says:“ About the words which you have heard,because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place, and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me, I also have heard you,” says Yahweh.“ Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes won’t see all the evil that I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants.”’” They brought back word to the king.Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.The king went up to Yahweh’s house, with all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests, the Levites, and all the people, both great and small; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in Yahweh’s house.The king stood in his place, and made a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.He caused all who were found in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand. The inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Yahweh their God. All his days they didn’t depart from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

David the king said to all the assembly,“ Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh God.Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, the bronze for the things of bronze, iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; also onyx stones, stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself today to Yahweh?”Then the princes of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;and they gave for the service of God’s house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, of silver ten thousand talents, of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.People with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of Yahweh’s house, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Yahweh; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.Therefore David blessed Yahweh before all the assembly; and David said,“ You are blessed, Yahweh, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.Yahweh our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now I have seen with joy your people, who are present here, offer willingly to you.

Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,how in much proof of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their generosity.For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

Hezekiah did so throughout all Judah; and he did that which was good, right, and faithful before Yahweh his God.In every work that he began in the service of God’s house, in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled,“ A bone of him will not be broken.”Again another Scripture says,“ They will look on him whom they pierced.”After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.Then because of the Jews’ Preparation Day( for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Jesus there.

When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him.

Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth.
