我思想自己走过的路，就决定归向你的法度。我毫不迟疑地遵守你的命令。

彼得又赌咒又发誓，说：“我不认识那个人！”就在这时候，鸡叫了。彼得想起耶稣说的话：“在鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”他就跑出去，失声痛哭。

那时，你们便会想起自己邪恶的行径，并因自己的罪恶和可憎行为而厌恶自己。

侥幸逃到山上的，都必像谷中哀鸣的鸽子，为自己的罪恶哭泣。

大卫统计了人口以后，内心不安，就对耶和华说：“我做这事犯了大罪。耶和华啊，求你赦免仆人的罪，我做了极其愚昧的事。”

最后，他醒悟过来，心想，‘在我父亲家里，连雇工的口粮都绰绰有余，我现在却要在这里饿死吗？我要动身回到我父亲身边，对他说，父亲，我得罪了天，也得罪了你，今后，我再也不配做你的儿子，请把我当作雇工看待吧。’

他就到外面，痛哭起来。

耶稣说：“我实在告诉你，今夜鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”

我听见以法莲在为自己悲叹，‘我们就像未经驯服的牛犊，你管教我们，使我们顺服，求你使我们回到你身边，重新复兴，因为你是我们的上帝耶和华。我们曾经离开你，但我们后悔了；我们醒悟之后捶胸顿足，痛悔不已，因早年的所作所为而羞愧难当。’”耶和华说：“以法莲不是我的爱子吗？他不是我喜悦的孩子吗？我虽然常常责备他，但仍然惦记着他。我深深地想念他，我必怜悯他。

彼得说：“你这人，我不知道你在说什么！”话才出口，鸡就叫了。

合乎上帝心意的忧伤会带来悔改，使人得到救恩，永不后悔，但世俗的忧伤只会带来死亡。

我要赦免你所有的罪，那时你想起这事会羞愧难当，不敢再开口。这是主耶和华说的。’”
