He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”Jesus said to him,“ It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Then Pilate asked Him,“ Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him,“ It is as you say.”

Simon Peter answered and said,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”

do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?

I said,“ I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me.”I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good; And my sorrow was stirred up.

and said to Him,“ Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”Jesus answered and said to them,“ Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.Then Pilate said to Him,“ Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?”But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

“ If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them,“ If I tell you, you will by no means believe.And if I also ask you, you will by no means answer Me or let Me go.Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.”Then they all said,“ Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them,“ You rightly say that I am.”And they said,“ What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”

Pilate therefore said to Him,“ Are You a king then?” Jesus answered,“ You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes.

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying,“ This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him,“ How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

“ I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me,‘ You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

I was mute, I did not open my mouth, Because it was You who did it.

And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

And suddenly they cried out, saying,“ What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

I and My Father are one.”Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.Then Jesus answered and said to them,“ Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.“ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Then Pilate asked Him again, saying,“ Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You!”But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.

and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus,“ Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him,“ Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”Jesus said,“ I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his clothes and said,“ What further need do we have of witnesses?

Nathanael answered and said to Him,“ Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”Jesus answered and said to him,“ Because I said to you,‘ I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”And He said to him,“ Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”
