But Jesus kept silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”“ You have said it,” Jesus told him.“ But I tell you, in the future you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

So Pilate asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?” He answered him,“ You say so.”

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

“ We have a law,” the Jews replied to him,“ and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

do you say,‘ You are blaspheming’ to the one the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God?

I said,“ I will guard my ways so that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are in my presence.”I was speechless and quiet; I kept silent, even from speaking good, and my pain intensified.

and asked him,“ Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”Jesus replied to them,“ Go and report to John what you hear and see:The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news,

when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

God will bring this about in his own time. He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords,

While he was being accused by the chief priests and elders, he didn’t answer.Then Pilate said to him,“ Don’t you hear how much they are testifying against you?”But he didn’t answer him on even one charge, so that the governor was quite amazed.

that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which was entrusted to me.

They said,“ If you are the Messiah, tell us.” But he said to them,“ If I do tell you, you will not believe.And if I ask you, you will not answer.But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”They all asked,“ Are you, then, the Son of God?” And he said to them,“ You say that I am.”“ Why do we need any more testimony,” they said,“ since we’ve heard it ourselves from his mouth?”

“ You are a king then?” Pilate asked.“ You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied.“ I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

LORD, may you be blessed; teach me your statutes.

And a voice from heaven said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.”

The Jews surrounded him and asked,“ How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”

I will declare the LORD’s decree. He said to me,“ You are my Son; today I have become your Father.

I am speechless; I do not open my mouth because of what you have done.

I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.

Suddenly they shouted,“ What do you have to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

I and the Father are one.”Again the Jews picked up rocks to stone him.

This is why the Jews began trying all the more to kill him: Not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal to God.Jesus replied,“ Truly I tell you, the Son is not able to do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son likewise does these things.For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing, and he will show him greater works than these so that you will be amazed.And just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son also gives life to whom he wants.The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,so that all people may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.“ Truly I tell you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will accomplish this.

Pilate questioned him again,“ Aren’t you going to answer? Look how many things they are accusing you of!”But Jesus still did not answer, and so Pilate was amazed.

He went back into the headquarters and asked Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus did not give him an answer.

But he kept silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him,“ Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”“ I am,” said Jesus,“ and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his robes and said,“ Why do we still need witnesses?

“ Rabbi,” Nathanael replied,“ You are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel!”Jesus responded to him,“ Do you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.”Then he said,“ Truly I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
