They brought forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.For we have heard him saying that Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

Jeremiah had just barely finished saying all the LORD had commanded him to say to all the people. All at once some of the priests, the prophets, and the people grabbed him and shouted,“ You deserve to die!How dare you claim the LORD’s authority to prophesy such things! How dare you claim his authority to prophesy that this temple will become like Shiloh and that this city will become an uninhabited ruin!” Then all the people crowded around Jeremiah.

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads and saying,“ Aha! You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

So then the Jewish leaders responded,“ What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”Jesus replied,“ Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”Then the Jewish leaders said to him,“ This temple has been under construction for forty- six years, and are you going to raise it up in three days?”But Jesus was speaking about the temple of his body.

and saying,“ You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God’s Son, come down from the cross!”

“ Micah from Moresheth prophesied during the time Hezekiah was king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Zion will become a plowed field. Jerusalem will become a pile of rubble. The temple mount will become a mere wooded ridge.”’
