有两个匪徒来，坐在拿伯的对面，当着众民作见证告他说：“拿伯谤渎神和王了！”众人就把他拉到城外，用石头打死。

过了五天，大祭司亚拿尼亚同几个长老，和一个辩士帖土罗下来，向巡抚控告保罗。保罗被提了来，帖土罗就告他说：“腓力斯大人，我们因你得以大享太平，并且这一国的弊病，因着你的先见得以更正了；我们随时随地满心感谢不尽。惟恐多说，你嫌烦絮，只求你宽容听我们说几句话。我们看这个人，如同瘟疫一般，是鼓动普天下众犹太人生乱的，又是拿撒勒教党里的一个头目，连圣殿他也想要污秽；我们把他捉住了。

祭司长和全公会寻找假见证控告耶稣，要治死他。虽有好些人来作假见证，总得不着实据。末后有两个人前来，说：

又叫两个匪徒坐在拿伯对面，作见证告他说：‘你谤渎神和王了’；随后就把他拉出去用石头打死。”

存着无亏的良心，叫你们在何事上被毁谤，就在何事上可以叫那诬赖你们在基督里有好品行的人自觉羞愧。神的旨意若是叫你们因行善受苦，总强如因行恶受苦。因基督也曾一次为罪受苦，就是义的代替不义的，为要引我们到神面前。按着肉体说，他被治死；按着灵性说，他复活了。

那时，总长和总督寻找但以理误国的把柄，为要参他；只是找不着他的错误过失，因他忠心办事，毫无错误过失。
