僕與吏役因寒熾炭、立而向火、彼得同立向火、

時祭司諸長經士、及民之長老、集於大祭司名該亞法者之院、

時西門彼得立而向火、眾謂之曰、爾亦其徒之一乎、彼得諱之曰、非也、

西門彼得與別一門徒、從耶穌、此門徒為大祭司所識、故同耶穌入大祭司之院、彼得立於門外、大祭司所識之門徒出、告守門之女、遂引彼得入、

耶穌悚惕哀慟、祈禱愈切、汗如血滴落於地、

彼得對曰、眾雖躓蹶、我終不躓蹶、耶穌曰、我誠告爾、今夜鷄鳴二次之先、爾將三次言不識我、彼得力言曰、我雖與爾同死、必不言不識爾、眾門徒亦如是言、

見彼得向火、注目視之曰、爾亦素偕拿撒勒耶穌者、彼得諱之曰、我不知、且不識爾言何也、遂出、至院之前廊、而鷄鳴矣、

以利亞聞之、以衣蒙面而出、立穴口、有聲詰之曰、以利亞、爾在此何為、

入一穴而居、主有言、詰之曰、以利亞、爾在此何為、

當警醒祈禱、免入誘惑、心固願而身弱矣、

亦有希伯來人渡約但、遁於迦得與基列地、掃羅猶在吉甲、民悉戰慄而從之、
