一到早晨，众祭司长、长老、文士，和全议会的人大家商议，就把耶稣绑着，解去，交给彼拉多。

他被欺压受苦，却不开口；他像羔羊被牵去宰杀，又像羊在剪毛的人手下无声，他也是这样不开口。

他们拿住耶稣，把他带走，进入大祭司的住宅。彼得远远地跟着。他们在院子中间生了火，一同坐着，彼得也坐在他们当中。有一个使女看见彼得面向火光坐着，就定睛看他，说：“这个人素来也是同那人一起的。”彼得却不承认，说：“你这个女人，我不认得他！”过了一会儿，又有一个人看见他，说：“你也是他们一伙的。”彼得说：“你这个人，我不是！”约过了一小时，又有一个人坚持说：“他实在是同那人一起的，因为他也是加利利人。”彼得说：“你这个人，我不知道你在说什么！”正说话之间，鸡就叫了。主转过身来看彼得，彼得就想起主对他所说的话：“今日鸡叫以前，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

于是，大祭司盘问耶稣有关他的门徒和他教导的事。耶稣回答他：“我一向都是公开地对世人讲话，我常在会堂和圣殿里，就是犹太人聚集的地方教导人，我私下并没有讲什么。你为什么问我呢？去问那些听过我讲话的人，我所说的，他们都知道。”耶稣说了这些话，旁边站着的一个警卫打了他一耳光，说：“你这样回答大祭司吗？”耶稣回答他：“假如我说的不对，你指证不对的地方；假如我说的对，你为什么打我呢？”于是亚那把耶稣绑着押解到大祭司该亚法那里。
