耶穌被執、曳至大司祭該法署中、經生耆老群集於斯。伯鐸祿遙尾其後、既至大司祭院中、乃與隸役共坐、以觀事之究竟。司祭以及公會、方搜覓偽證、以控耶穌、而置之死。其時雖有多人加以偽證、然終難得逞。繼有二人前進曰：『斯人曾云：「予能毀上主之殿。三日而復建之。」』於是大司祭起謂耶穌曰：『爾聞若輩之證言矣、竟無一言以答耶？』耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』耶穌曰：『爾言之矣。第予告爾、爾將見人子坐於全能者之右、自天駕雲而降。』大司祭怒而裂衣曰：『彼言僭妄、更需何證。君等盡聞；將何以處之？』僉曰：『當死！』乃唾其面、毆以拳、更有掌之者、且曰：『基督乎、爾為先知、請語吾儕擊爾者誰也。』

及曙、大司祭與諸長老經生及公會中人會議既畢、乃縛耶穌、押送比辣多、

翌日、有司、長老、經生會於耶路撒冷、大司祭亞納及蓋法若翰亞力山大與大司祭戚屬咸集、

於是千總率士卒、偕猶太人諸使執耶穌而縛之、先解至亞納處。亞納者、乃是歲總司祭蓋法之岳父、而蓋法即曩時向猶太人宣告「死一人以活萬民、實計之得」者也。

斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中

眾執耶穌解送總司祭署、伯鐸祿遙尾其後。庭中燃火、眾人環坐、伯鐸祿與焉。一婢見其面火坐、注視之曰：『此人從耶穌。』伯鐸祿不承曰：『女子、吾不識彼人。』無何、又一人見之曰：『汝亦彼黨。』伯鐸祿曰：『君誤矣！吾非彼黨。』閱一時許、更有人堅言曰：『此人確為彼黨、亦加利利人也。』伯鐸祿曰：『吾實不知君之所云。』言未已而雞鳴矣。主回顧伯鐸祿、伯鐸祿方憶主所語今宵雞鳴前、行見爾三背予之言、遂出而痛哭。

總司祭方以收徒傳道諸端詰耶穌。耶穌對曰：『予向公開言論、施訓會堂聖殿中、此皆猶太人會集之所、未嘗言之於隱、爾何問予、盍問聽眾、予曾作何言、若輩定知予之所言。』語甫出、旁立一吏批其頰曰：『若敢如此對總司祭耶！』耶穌應曰：『吾言非耶？儘可指證其非。吾言是耶？何擊予為。』蓋亞納已將耶穌縛送總司祭蓋法處矣。
