And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

既返、見門徒寢、語彼得曰、西門爾寢乎、不能儆醒片時乎、

退、見門徒寢、謂彼得曰、西門爾寢乎、不能儆醒片時乎、

遂返、見門徒寢、謂彼得曰、西門、爾寢乎、爾不能警醒片時乎、

及返、見諸徒皆睡、呼伯鐸祿曰：『西門睡耶？竟弗克儆守半晷！

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping.“ Simon,” he said to Peter,“ are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour?

And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter,“ Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?

Then he came and found them sleeping. He said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake one hour?

And He* came and* found them sleeping, and* said to Peter,“ Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?

Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?

Then He came and found them sleeping.“ Simon, are you sleeping?” He asked Peter.“ Couldn’t you stay awake one hour?

Then he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake for one hour?

He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you watch one hour?

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

And Absalom said to Hushai,[ Is] this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet[ will] not I.And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day,[ even] in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

And when he returned, he found them asleep again,( for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take[ your] rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and[ if] in the land of peace,[ wherein] thou trustedst,[ they wearied thee], then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

Therefore let us not sleep, as[ do] others; but let us watch and be sober.For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
