And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest thou not watch one hour?

遂返、見門徒寢、謂彼得曰、西門、爾寢乎、爾不能警醒片時乎、

及返、見諸徒皆睡、呼伯鐸祿曰：『西門睡耶？竟弗克儆守半晷！

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping.“ Simon,” he said to Peter,“ are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour?

who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.Now Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that thou to- day, even this night, before the cock crow twice, shalt deny me thrice.But he spake exceeding vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all.

And again he came, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they knew not what to answer him.And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.

Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and though in a land of peace thou art secure, yet how wilt thou do in the pride of the Jordan?

so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
