But Peter insisted emphatically,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.

But Peter would not give in. He said,“ I may have to die with you. But I will never say I don’t know you.” And all the others said the same thing.

But he said emphatically,“ If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.

“ No!” Peter declared emphatically.“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

But he kept insisting,“ If I have to die with you, I will never deny you.” And they all said the same thing.

But Peter repeatedly said insistently,“ Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing as well.

But he spoke more vehemently,“ If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all said likewise.

But he spake exceeding vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all.

But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

But Peter insisted emphatically,“ Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all of them said the same thing.

But he spoke all the more,“ If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You!”

Then all the people responded together,“ We will do all that the Lord has spoken.” So Moses brought the people’s words back to the Lord.

Go near and listen to everything the Lord our God says. Then you can tell us everything the Lord our God tells you; we will listen and obey.’“ The Lord heard your words when you spoke to me. He said to me,‘ I have heard the words that these people have spoken to you. Everything they have said is right.If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commands always, so that they and their children will prosper forever.

A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother.
