They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!All the angels stood around the throne, and along with the elders and the four living creatures they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God,saying, Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen.Then one of the elders asked me,“ Who are these people in white robes, and where did they come from?”I said to him,“ Sir, you know.” Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple. The one seated on the throne will shelter them:They will no longer hunger; they will no longer thirst; the sun will no longer strike them, nor will any scorching heat.For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; he will guide them to springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?

When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints.And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth.

Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.Where a will exists, the death of the one who made it must be established.For a will is valid only when people die, since it is never in effect while the one who made it is living.That is why even the first covenant was inaugurated with blood.For when every command had been proclaimed by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll itself and all the people,saying, This is the blood of the covenant that God has ordained for you.In the same way, he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the articles of worship with blood.According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.Therefore, it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves to be purified with better sacrifices than these.

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus— the great Shepherd of the sheep— through the blood of the everlasting covenant,equip you with everything good to do his will, working in us what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

So Jesus said to them,“ Truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves.
