維時除酵節、亦稱免難節、已近、司祭長與經生正謀所以殺耶穌、第畏民眾。

免難節既近、耶穌自知離世歸父之時將至；平生篤愛其在世之徒、至是愛之彌篤、蔑以加矣。

何列邦之擾攘兮。何萬民之猖狂。世酋蠭起兮。跋扈飛揚。共圖背叛天主兮。反抗受命之王。曰吾儕豈長甘羈絆兮。盍解其縛而脫其繮。在天者必大笑兮。笑蜉蝣之不知自量。終必勃然而怒兮。以懲當車之螳螂。

法利塞人出、共謀誅滅耶穌。

吾民其恃主。向主披肺腑。雖在危厄終必安。主是吾人停泊所。

復以聖神假爾僕大維之口而言曰：「何列國之擾攘兮何萬民之猖狂。世酋蠭起兮、跋扈飛揚。意圖背叛天主兮、反抗受命之王。」今希祿與般雀‧比辣多果率異邦及義塞之人民、群集於城、反抗爾之聖子耶穌即爾所膏沐、以奉行爾所手訂之聖謨者也。

求我恩主。聽我哀訴。敵人謀我。我心恐怖。群小紛紜。橫行無度。祈主保我。莫為所誣。磨礪其舌。利矣其芒。言如暗箭。中傷賢良。突然而發。得意洋洋。以惡相勸。逞其猖狂。設阱陷人。自誇謀臧。

自此、若輩處心積慮、共謀所以殺耶穌。耶穌亦不復公然行於猶太人中、乃退至郊野之地；入一鎮、名以法蓮、偕門徒居焉。會猶太人之免難節將屆、節前多有自鄉間上耶路撒冷者、先行取潔、皆覓耶穌、群立殿中、而相語曰：『爾謂彼將不來度節乎？』惟司祭長及法利塞人已曉諭諸民、如有知耶穌所在者、即當稟報、以便逮捕。

『爾知十日後、即為免難節、人子將被縛而釘於十字架矣。』斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中思以詭謀曲陷耶穌、而置之於死；惟曰：『毋於節日行之、恐民生變。』

司祭諸長及法利塞人、乃召集會議、僉曰：『斯人多行異蹟、吾輩將何以處之？

爾曹何事肆凌虐。幸災樂禍盍有極猶如眾手推欹壁。

嗟爾濁世之家兮。胡作孽以為能。須知天主之仁兮。乃亘古而長存。

故爾於施濟時毋效虛偽者在堂中或市上、鳴角以求榮於人者之所為也。吾實語爾。彼已獲其報矣。
