為什麼萬國悖逆，萬民圖謀虛妄的事呢？地上的君王們站出來，首領們一同商定，敵對耶和華和他的受膏者，說：「讓我們掙斷他們的捆綁，把他們的繩索從我們身上甩掉！」坐在天上的那一位會譏笑，主會嘲笑他們。那時他在怒氣中向他們說話，在烈怒中使他們惶恐，說：

那些法利賽人就出去，商議怎樣對付耶穌，好除滅他。

卑賤的人不過是虛空，尊貴的人也只是虛幻；把他們放在天平上，他們那邊就向上升，他們加起來比空氣還輕。

你曾經藉著聖靈，用你的僕人——我們先祖大衛的口說：『列國為什麼狂怒騷亂，眾民為什麼圖謀虛空？地上的眾君王都起來，首領們也聚集在一起，抵擋主和他的基督。』「事實上，希律和本丟彼拉多，與外邦人和以色列子民果然在這城裡一同聚集，對付你所膏立的聖僕耶穌，做成了你手和你計劃所預定要成就的一切事。

求你隱藏我，脫離作惡者的密謀，脫離作孽者的擾亂。他們磨快自己的舌頭，如同刀劍；他們發出苦毒的話語，好像弦上的箭，為要從隱祕處射純全人；他們突然射他，肆無忌憚。他們彼此慫恿去做惡事，彼此商量要暗設陷阱，說：「誰能看見呢？」他們籌劃不義，說：「我們所籌劃的計謀定好了。」人的意念和心思實在深不可測。

從那天起，他們就商議要把耶穌殺掉。因此，耶穌不再公開地在猶太人當中行事，而是離開那裡，到曠野附近的地方，進了一個叫以法蓮的城，在那裡與門徒們住下了。猶太人的逾越節快到了。許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷去，要在節日前潔淨自己。他們尋找耶穌，站在聖殿裡彼此談論說：「你們怎麼看，他絕不會來過節吧？」原來，祭司長們和法利賽人早就下令，如果有人知道耶穌在哪裡，就要報告，好抓住他。

「你們知道，過兩天就是逾越節，人子要被交出去釘上十字架。」那時，祭司長們和民間的長老們聚集在叫該亞法的大祭司的宅院裡，商議要用詭計拘捕耶穌，把他殺掉。不過他們說：「不可在節日期間，免得民中發生騷亂。」

於是祭司長們和法利賽人召集了議會，說：「這個人行了很多神蹟，我們該做什麼呢？

他們彼此商議，只為把他從高位上趕下來；他們喜悅虛謊，口中雖祝福，心中卻詛咒。細拉

你喜愛作惡勝過行善，喜愛撒謊勝過說公正的話。細拉

所以你施捨的時候，不要在自己前面吹號，像偽善的人那樣。他們在會堂裡和大街上這樣做，是為了要得人的榮耀。我確實地告訴你們：他們已經得到了他們的報償。
