『至於彼時彼日、無人知之。天神不知、人子亦不知、惟父知之。

“ But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

“ But no one knows about that day or hour. Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows.

“ But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

“ However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.

“ Now concerning that day or hour no one knows— neither the angels in heaven nor the Son— but only the Father.

耶稣对他们说：“父凭着自己的权柄所定的时候和日期，不是你们可以知道的。

“所以你们要警醒，因为你们不知道那日子和那时刻。

“至于那日子和那时刻，没有人知道，连诸天之上的天使们也不知道，子也不知道，唯有父知道。挪亚的那些日子怎样，人子的来临也将要怎样。在洪水以前的那些日子里，人们继续吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亚进方舟的那一天。他们毫不察觉，直到洪水到来，把一切冲走。人子的来临，也将是这样。那时，两个人在田里，一个被接去，一个被留下。两个女人在磨石那里推磨，一个被接去，一个被留下。所以你们要警醒，因为你们不知道你们的主哪一天回来。

弟兄们，关于这些时候和日期，你们不需要我写什么给你们了。因为你们自己明确地知道，主的日子来临，就像夜里的贼来临那样。

那时候，人们将要看见人子带着极大的权能和荣耀，在云彩中来临。他要差派天使们，并且从四方，从地极到天边，召集他所拣选的人。

“半夜里，有人喧嚷：‘看哪，是新郎！你们出来迎接他！’

“过了很久，那些奴仆的主人回来，与他们清算账目。

不过，主的日子要来临，就像贼来临那样。在那日，诸天要轰然一声地消逝，天体将被火焚烧而废除，地和地上的作为也都将被暴露出来。

所以你应当记住你所领受、所听见的是什么；你应当持守，应当悔改。如果你不警醒，我就要来临，就像贼来临那样；而你绝不会知道我什么时候临到你。

耶稣基督的启示，就是神赐给他，要他指示给他奴仆们的那些必须快发生的事。基督藉着他的天使，向他的奴仆约翰传达并指明了那些事。
